Ms. Saima Jan is a Ph.D. scholar in the Division of Fisheries Resource Management, Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Rangil, Ganderbal, India. She earned her B.F.Sc. and M.F.Sc. degrees from the same institution. Her research interests encompass fisheries science, fish biology, freshwater fish biodiversity, and sustainable fisheries management. She has published three review articles, five book chapters, two research articles, and three popular science articles in reputed national and international journals and books. Her research focuses on fish diversity, fisheries resource assessment, conservation, and the sustainable management of freshwater aquatic resources in the Himalayan region.

Dr. Farooz Ahmad Bhat is currently serving as the Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-Kashmir), Rangil, Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He is a renowned fisheries scientist with extensive expertise in fish biodiversity, aquatic ecology, fish population dynamics, and the distribution patterns of fishes in freshwater ecosystems, particularly Himalayan cold-water fisheries. He has published more than 115 research papers in reputed national and international journals and has authored or co-authored several books, book chapters, and technical publications related to fisheries science, aquatic biodiversity, and inland fisheries management. He has supervised numerous postgraduate and doctoral students and has actively contributed to research projects, scientific conferences, and initiatives focused on the conservation and sustainable management of freshwater aquatic resources in the Himalayan region.

Ms. Shafiya Mushtaq is a Ph.D. scholar in Fisheries Resource Management at the Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-Kashmir. She completed her B.F.Sc. and M.F.Sc. degrees in Fisheries Resource Management from the same institution. She has published three research papers, ten review articles, fifteen popular science articles, and ten book chapters. She has participated in five national and three international conferences, in addition to several training programmes, workshops, and symposia. She qualified the ASRB-NET in 2026. Her research interests include fish diversity, stock assessment, population dynamics, environmental management, DNA barcoding, and habitat restoration. She serves as a Review Board Member of Acta Scientific Veterinary Sciences Journal and is an active member of the All-India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA)–Fisheries. Her research focuses on advancing sustainable fisheries management and the conservation of aquatic ecosystems.

Dr. Tasaduq H. Shah is Professor and Head of the Division of Fisheries Resource Management at the Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Rangil, Ganderbal, India. He earned his M.F.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Central Institute of Fisheries Education (ICAR-CIFE), Mumbai. With over two decades of professional experience, his research interests include fishery biology, aquatic ecology, cold-water fisheries, and inland fisheries management. He has supervised numerous postgraduate and doctoral students, published more than 60 research papers, and authored several books, book chapters, and technical manuals. Before joining SKUAST-K, he served in the Jammu and Kashmir Fisheries Department, where he contributed to the development and promotion of trout fisheries and sustainable cold-water aquaculture in the region.

Dr. Ishrat Mohd is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Fisheries Resource Management, Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Rangil, Ganderbal, India. She joined the B.F.Sc. programme in 2010 and graduated as a university topper. She qualified for the ICAR Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) with an All-India Rank (AIR) of 6 and secured first rank in the M.F.Sc. and Ph.D. entrance examinations at SKUAST-K. She has received Certificates of Merit, merit scholarships, and Gold Medal nominations for both degrees. She also qualified the ICAR-NET in 2018. Dr. Mohd has over a year of teaching experience and has published 16 research papers, two book chapters, four books, and two popular science articles. She has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, training programmes, and workshops, and has received awards for outstanding poster and oral presentations in fisheries research.
