The book is an academic and practical reference on statistical and genetic methods used for analysing mating designs in plant breeding and related biological sciences. Written in a simple and accessible manner, the book presents the methodology, generalized formulae, statistical techniques and implementation procedures associated with major mating-design approaches.

The book covers Complete Diallel Analysis using Hayman’s Method, Griffing’s Methods I–IV, Partial Diallel Analysis, North Carolina Designs I–III, and Line × Tester Analysis. These methods provide important tools for studying genetic variation, combining ability, variance components and inheritance patterns in breeding populations.

The book is designed to support students, researchers, plant breeders, agricultural scientists, statisticians, teachers and professionals who need a practical understanding of mating-design analysis and its application to experimental data.

Dr. Sangeeta Ahuja is Ph.D. (Computer Science) from University of Delhi, India, She is a Senior Scientist and working at (IASRI) (ICAR), New Delhi Ministry Govt. of India. Her research sits at the intersection in multidisciplinary fields viz., statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, deep learning, engineering techniques, agriculture, bioinformatics, plant and animal sciences with a strong focus on developing advanced computational methodologies for data analysis.
