<p style="text-align: justify;">The aim of &quot;The Science of Horticulture&quot; is to offer a comprehensive understanding of recent scientific advancements in horticulture to a wide range of stakeholders, including students, scientists, extension officers, farmers, and policy planners. In a global marketplace, the marketing of horticultural products has taken on increased significance due to the establishment of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Over 110 countries have signed various trade-related agreements. The Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement), in particular, demonstrates the commitment of member countries to utilizing intellectual property as a means of achieving economic balance and reducing trade barriers.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The legislative history of the TRIPS Agreement, which includes the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the Madrid Agreement, the Chairman&#39;s draft, the Dunkel draft, and general protection under article 22, offers insight into the development of the agreement. Additionally, the TRIPS Agreement includes specific provisions related to intellectual property rights. A few examples of horticultural products that have been registered under Geographical Indication (Gi) appellation include Malabar Pepper, Alleppy Green Cardamom, Assam Tea, Darjeeling Tea, Nilgiri Tea, and Coorge Orange.
