Dr. Raviraja Shetty G is a distinguished professor of Horticulture and a nationally recognized expert in conservation of endangered medicinal plants, production and crop improvement of Plantation, spices and beverage crops. He did his Ph.D in Horticulture from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India. He worked on biodiversity, crop improvement, propagation and conservation of Plantation, Spices Medicinal and Aromatic crops. Dr. Shetty has received Environmentalist of the Year-2010 award by National Environmental Science Academy, New-Delhi, Young Scientist of the year 2014 award by Scientific and Environmental Research Institute, Kolkata, Scientist of year award 2020 by National Environmental Science Academy, New-Delhi. Recently he has been conferred with “Biodiversity Conservation award” from Karnataka Biodiversity Board. He has chaired many sessions in national and international conferences in the field of Horticulture. He has delivered lead talks and invited talks at various national and international conferences. He has wide international exposure and visited countries like Serbia, Portugal, France, Israel, Switzerland, Australia, Singapore and USA to present his research work and to attend international trainings. He has guided more than 25 M.Sc. and Ph. D students for their research as Major Advisor. To his credit he has more than 70 research papers published in national and international journals. He has handled various research projects funded by DST, NMPB, ICAR, NHM and GOK. He is the member for Medicinal Plant Specialist Group and Species survival Group of International Union for Nature Conservation (IUCN). Presently he is working as Professor and Head at Agricultural & Horticulture Research Station, Theerthahalli, Shivamogga under Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural & Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga.

Dr. B. Hemla Naik is a distinguished horticultural scientist, educator, and institutional leader from Karnataka, India, currently serving as the Director of Education at the Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (KSNUAHS), Shivamogga, where he has also held positions as Director of Research and Director of Extension. With an academic background that includes an MSc in Agriculture, a PhD in Horticulture, a Postgraduate Diploma in Horticulture from Israel, and advanced training in Agricultural Education from the USA, he brings both global exposure and regional expertise to his work. His research contributions are widely recognized, with more than 1,200 citations, an h-index of 17, and numerous publications in horticultural sciences. As a Senior Professor of Horticulture, he has played a pivotal role in shaping KSNUAHS, Karnataka’s first integrated university that combines agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and forestry, fostering interdisciplinary education and research. His vision extends beyond academia, positioning horticulture as a bridge between sustainable agriculture, community empowerment, and global food security, making him not only a scientist but also an ambassador of horticultural innovation and stewardship.

Dr. Naik has positioned horticulture as a discipline that not only advances crop science but also empowers communities, strengthens food security, and contributes to sustainable agriculture. His ambassadorial role is evident in his ability to weave together science, education, and outreach, making him a respected voice in both national and international forums. In every capacity, he embodies the spirit of stewardship—nurturing institutions, mentoring students, and envisioning horticulture as a vital bridge between tradition and innovation, local needs and global challenges, scientific rigor and societal well-being.

Tamanna Arif is a distinguished young scholar in horticultural sciences, presently pursuing her Doctoral research at the University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. An alumna of the KSN University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, she excelled as a meritorious student throughout her academic journey and was awarded the University Gold Medal for her outstanding performance during her postgraduate studies.

She has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences, while also contributing more than twenty articles to reputed journals and magazines—several of which have garnered awards. Her contributions were further acknowledged with the Emerging Scientist Award at the International Scientist Conference on Engineering, Science and Medicine (2021).

A recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Fellowship Award instituted by SERB, Government of India, Tamanna is currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at Sami-Sabinsa Group Limited, where she is engaged in the discovery and development of novel plant-based drugs with potential therapeutic applications.

An accomplished author of two academic books, she aspires to blend scientific excellence with innovation, dedicating her career to pioneering advances in crop science, post-harvest technologies, and sustainable agricultural practices.
