About This Course
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications in smart agriculture and precision farming. It covers the fundamentals of IoT, its evolution, ecosystem, system components, benefits, and challenges in modern agricultural practices. Learners develop foundational knowledge of electronics, including voltage, current, resistance, Ohm’s law, electronic components, digital and analog signals, and circuit diagrams.
The course offers practical training in Arduino programming and interfacing, sensor integration, and NodeMCU-based communication. It explores agricultural sensors for soil moisture, temperature, humidity, light, water levels, and gas detection, along with Wi-Fi connectivity and communication protocols. Learners also understand IoT architecture, cloud platforms such as ThingSpeak, sensor data transmission, real-time monitoring, data processing, and dashboard visualisation.
Through practical examples and case studies, participants explore smart irrigation, automated pump control, greenhouse monitoring, livestock monitoring, and weather monitoring systems. The course also addresses field deployment challenges and system optimisation. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with foundational technical and practical skills to develop IoT-enabled agricultural solutions that improve resource utilisation, farm productivity, automation, and sustainable agricultural management.
