The role and importance of agricultural extension is ever increasing in view of the impending need to increase farm productivity, create an opportunity for income and employment generation and facilitate farmers in the midst of challenges including climate change. As a professional discipline, its contribution is well established across the world addressing poverty, malnutrition and sustainability. With the changing pattern of competitive examination, nature of preparation for success in those examinations has also changed. In the discipline of extension education, many new concepts have emerged in the recent past which should be known/understood for sure success in those examinations.
We feel great pleasure to introduce the thoroughly revised and enlarged edition of the book entitled ‘Question Bank in Extension Education’ . The first edition found highly beneficial for students aspiring for competitive exams in extension education. The efforts are taken to enhance the quality of the content as per the feedback and suggestion given by the students and scholars. Previous question papers of ICAR- NET, JRF, SRF, ASRB examinations and entrance test of deemed universities have been incorporated for better understanding of trends in the questions commonly asked in the competitive examination. Twelve chapters pertaining to different facets of extension education have been incorporated in the book and attempts have been made to include probable questions for future examinations. Special attention has been made to improve the quality of the questions and minimize errors. We are hopeful that, after going through this book, students can sharpen their analytical skill, enhance their chances of success in the examination and prosper in their future endeavour.
