The Forestry Education dates back to 18th Century when it was started by some institutes in Europe. In India Forestry Education was introduced at the University level by starting M. Sc. (Forestry) in 1976 at Solan. Now at present due to population growth, industrialization and urbanization more and more trained man power in forestry sector is required. In the era of climate change the importance of “Forestry Science” is increasing day by day as because forest is the cheap option to combat climate change and offer clean environment. Importance of forestry is increasing day by day to produce forestry professionals with forestry education and to meet challenges of high forest productivity. Forest is a commodity which if managed scientifically can be a major source for protection of environment as well as will be helpful to sustain livelihood of the dependent communities.
