Introduction

The Web-enabled infrastructures, practices and strategies are creating confusions disruptions for virtually every institution and enterprise. The responses to these disruptions are progressively leading to new practices, business models, and strategies in a variety of domains posing challenges to the profession of librarianship. The acquisition, assimilation, and sharing of knowledge is one such sphere that is really experiencing a revolution.

Data analysis plays a pivotal role in social science research, transforming raw
data into meaningful insights. In this study, data collected from the field were meticulously scored, tabulated and analyzed using a variety of statistical tools to meet the specific objectives of the research. These tools not only help in summarizing and interpreting the data but also aid in drawing valid and reliable conclusions. Statistics is the science of assembling, organizing and analyzing numerical data. The following statistical techniques and tools were employed:

Definition: Frequency refers to the number of times a particular value or category occurs in a dataset.
Purpose: It provides an immediate visual representation of how
responses or scores are distributed across various categories.

We have discussed about how anyone can install and use the tools to built a real time project in artificial Intelligence.

To download and install Python visit the official website of Python https://www.python.org/downloads/and choose your version. We have chosen Python version as per requirement all the codes in this book were on python version 3.6 as you can see in the Fig. 7.1.

Gender analysis is the first and the foremost critical step towards gender responsive planning and programming. It involves collection and analysis of sex disaggregated information. It examines the differences, commonalties and interactions between women and men. Gender analysis examines women’s and men’s specific activities, conditions, needs, access to and control over resources, access to development benefits and decision-making.

Gender analysis helps to clarify the specific and often different capacities, vulnerabilities, needs and coping strategies of men and women, and indicates where opportunities for targeting effective strategies lie. Established patterns of gender inequality and inequity can be explored, exposed and addressed. This may provide opportunities and entry points to develop programs that support efforts to build more equitable gender relations. It aims to achieve positive change for women.

Elements of Gender Analysis

a) Natural: Land, water, forests, rivers etc.

b) Economic: Work opportunities, wages and remuneration, remittance, credit and production inputs.

c) Social: Formal and informal education and social services- religion and cultural norms like dress, defining private and public spaces.

While structural genomics aims to describe the protein structures coded by the genes present in the genome, functional genomics deciphers meaning of the coded information at transcriptome, proteome and interactome level. In the previous chapter we have seen how a gene can be identified by creation of mutants, genetic and physical mapping, and by sequencing the gene. Another source of possible gene structures come from genome sequence information, which by using computational algorithms identifies a number of ORFs that have the structural configuration of a gene. A third option of identifying a gene is identification of differences between wild type and mutant at RNA level, by analyzing the transcriptome. If we are able to identify differences in RNA expression pattern between these two, the information can be used to search back the gene sequences responsible for the differences. From proteome analysis inferences on expression of proteins and their interaction in the functional network of the cell with other proteins, DNA, RNA and cellular 

The primary target of genomics is identification and characterization of genes and gene products. Starting point of genomics may be a whole genome sequence, from which gene and protein structures can be predicted by computational and bioinformatics approaches (in silico genomics), or genes can be identified step by step starting from identification of a phenotype by induction and detection of mutation, construction of a genetic map demarkating the position of the character, physical location, identification of the gene, cloning and characterization of the gene or genome sequence by sequencing followed by expression analysis to correlate the phenotypic expression (in vivo genomics). Alternatively, genes can be identified by developing knockout mutants by random or site directed disruption of a reading frame and then determining the protein product as well as phenotypic expression.

This chapter focuses on the ergonomic design of tools, machines and equipment used in occupational and domestic activities. It examines the human–tool interface and explains why equipment must reflect users’ anthropometric dimensions, biomechanics, cognitive capabilities and sensory requirements. Important design considerations include handle dimensions, grip comfort, wrist position, operating force, weight, balance, vibration and feedback. Adjustable features and alternative equipment sizes are presented as methods for accommodating user diversity. Examples from industrial, agricultural and domestic work show how ergonomic improvements can reduce fatigue, musculoskeletal strain and operational errors. The chapter also considers lightweight materials, mechanical assistance, automation and other technological innovations that improve safety and efficiency.

Efficient horticultural production depends greatly on appropriate tools, implements, and timely cultural operations. This chapter introduces the major equipment used for land preparation, planting, weeding, pruning, propagation, irrigation, harvesting, and routine crop management. It emphasizes correct tool selection according to crop, operation, plant structure, and working conditions. Digging tools, secateurs, loppers, pruning saws, grafting knives, and other specialized implements are discussed along with principles of maintenance, sharpening, sterilization, and safe handling. The chapter also explains important cultural operations that influence crop establishment and productivity. Proper use of tools improves precision, reduces labour, prevents plant injury, and increases operational efficiency in horticultural systems.

This chapter would typically focus on the practical implementation aspects of a national drought management policy, emphasizing the scientific and technological tools, analytical models, and ongoing research necessary for effective drought preparedness, mitigation, and response. 10.1.1 Drought Monitoring and Early Warning Systems • Indicators and Thresholds: Defining and utilizing a suite of meteorological, agricultural, and hydrological indicators (e.g., Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Aridity Anomaly Index (AAI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), soil moisture data, reservoir levels, groundwater levels). • Monitoring Networks: Establishing and maintaining networks of ground-based weather stations, rain gauges, and river flow gauges. • Remote Sensing and GIS: Utilizing satellite imagery and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for large-scale, near real-time drought assessment, vegetation health monitoring

A broader definition of a tool is an entity used to interface between two or more domains that facilitates more effective action of one domain upon the other. The most basic tools are simple machines. For example, a crowbar simply functions as a lever. The further out from the pivot point, the more force is transmitted along the lever. A hammer typically interfaces between the operator’s hand and the nail the operator wishes to strike.
A telephone is a communication tool that interfaces between two people engaged in conversation at one level. And between each user and the communication network at another. It is in the domain of media and communications technology that a counterintuitive aspect of our relationships with our tools first began to gain popular recognition.
Marshall McLuhan famously said “We shape our tools. And then our tools shape us.” McLuhan was referring to the fact that our social practices co-evolve with our use of new tools and the refinements we make to existing tools.

Fundamentally toposheet represents a kind of map in which topographic features of particular area is given details on the map features in two dimensional land surfaces. It shows both horizontal and vertical portion of the terrain with a combination of contour lines, contours, symbols, labels and related representation together in one piece of paper. Toposheet portray the shapes, location of mountains, many natural and manmade features, and the toposheet combinedly uses for extracting accurate information about particular area containing land surface features.

6.1 Introduction

Torrefaction is a thermophilic process of biomass conversion into a solid, friable, homogenous coal-like material, which has better fuel characteristics than the original biomass. Torrefaction involves the heating of biomass material in the absence of air at 250 to 300°C temperature. Torrefaction produces high-grade hydrophobic nature solid biofuels from various streams of woody biomass or agro residues.Torrefied biomass has high energy density then the original biomass which make torrefied biomass as renewable alternate source for power generation in coal power plant. Torrefied biomass being hydrophobic in nature can be stored easily for longer duration with negligible biological degradation. At 250-300°C temperature volatilization has been taking place and around 30% mass of the biomass is reduced as compared to original untorrefied biomass with net energy loss of approximately around 10%.The end product is a predictable, homogeneous, hydrophobic, high value solid biofuel with far higher energy density and calorific value than the original biomass feedstock. During the torrefaction process a combustible gas is released, which can also utilised to provide heat to the process. The process diagram of torrefaction process is shown in Fig. 6.1.

Torsion, or twisting, of one or more segments of the alimentary canal is a serious and often life-threatening condition in animals. It involves the abnormal rotation of the gastrointestinal tract along its axis, resulting in obstruction, vascular compromise, and subsequent tissue death. Torsion can affect differentparts of the alimentary canal, including the stomach, intestines, and cecum, and  is more commonly observed in certain species and breeds due to anatomical and environmental factors.
This condition requires prompt diagnosis and treatment to minimize morbidity and mortality. This discussion provides a comprehensive understanding of torsion, its pathophysiology, causes, clinical signs, diagnostic methods, and management strategies.
Pathophysiology of torsion
The alimentary canal is suspended in the abdominal cavity by mesenteric attachments that contain blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatics. When a segment of the canal twists along its mesenteric axis:
1. Mechanical obstruction: The lumen becomes occluded, preventing the passage of ingesta or gas.

The torsion or displacement of the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum are significant conditions affecting ruminants, particularly dairy cattle. These gastrointestinal disorders result in severe digestive disruptions, metabolic imbalances, and, if untreated, life-threatening complications. This chapter delves into the causes, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and management strategies for these conditions, focusing on each stomach compartment of ruminants.
Anatomy and function of rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum Ruminants have a complex stomach with four compartments:
1. Rumen: The largest compartment responsible for microbial fermentation and digestion of fibrous feed.
2. Reticulum: Works closely with the rumen in fermentation and acts as a sorting chamber.
3. Omasum: Absorbs water, electrolytes, and VFAs while filtering digesta.
4. Abomasum: Functions as the true stomach, secreting acid and enzymes for protein digestion.
Torsion or displacement in any of these compartments disrupts their normal functioning, leading to severe health issues.
Displacement or torsion of the rumen
Rumen displacement or torsion is less common than issues in the abomasum but can still occur under specific circumstances.

Definition
The residue of incineration at 550-600ºC is the crude ash.

Reagent
Dilute hydrochloric acid -approximately 5 N prepared from concentrated hydrochloric acid. Dissolve 445 ml conc. hydrochloric acid (about 36 percent HCl) in one litre distilled water. 

Procedure for Total Ash Estimation
Take a vitreosil crucible in oven at 100ºC for six hours, remove and keep it in a desiccator and weigh up to constant weight. About 5-10 g of sample is taken in the weighted vitreosil crucible. The material in the crucible is charred on a low flame and the crucible is then kept in muffle furnace and temperature is allowed to raise to 600ºC and kept constant for two hours. It is removed on cooling and kept in a desiccator  and weight of crucible is taken.

Introduction

A haemocytometer is a single piece of glass with an H-shaped trough forming two counting areas. Hemocytometers are used to determine the total cell count and viability of many different cell types The full grid on a hemocytometer contains nine squares, each of which is 1 mm¹. Each counting area is defined by a grid system. It has supports that hold the cover glass at the proper distance (0.1 mm) above these areas for the calculation of the concentration per volume of liquid.

Hardness is the total soluble Ca and Mg Salts (in same cases Fe salts). It includes sulphates and chlorides along with carbonate, bicarbonate and hydroxide salts. Soft water: 0-100 mg/L, Hard water: 100 - 300 mg/L, Very hard water: > 300 mg/L CaCO3. Total hardness should be 50- 300 mg/L. Very hard water causes osmoregulatory stress to fish. Hardness below 50 mg/L reduces growth of plankton.
Reagents
1. 10.01M EDTA solution: Dissolve 3.72 g disodium salt of EDTA in distilled water and make the volume 1L by shaking.
2. Eriochrome Black T (EBT) Indicator: Add 0.2 g dry Eriochrome powder to 50 ml of triethyl amine. Add 5 ml absolute alcohol and shake it.
3. Ammonium chloride-Ammonium hydroxide buffer solution: Dissolve 17.5g ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) in 142 ml of ammonia solution (NH4OH). Add distilled water to make the volume 250 ml.
Procedure
1. Take 50ml water sample in a 250 ml conical flask.
2. Add 2 ml buffer solution and 5 drops of EBT indicator.
3. Wine-red colour will appear.
4. Titrate against 0.01M EDTA till the colour changes into bright greenish blue.

Gravimetric Method — Principle

Total lipids in plasma consist of neutral fats, phospholipids, chloesterol esters and free cholesterol. Minor components include non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), phosphatides and sphingo myelin. Total lipids in serum or plasma are extracted using ethyl alcohol and petroleum  ether, separated and weighed after drying at 105ºC.

Procedure
Pipette 5 ml serum in a separating funnel, add 5 ml ethyl alcohol and 12.5 ml pertroleum ether. Shake the contents of funnel two times for 3 min. atleast. Keep the contents of funnel as such for one hour. Transfer the contents of funnel in the moisture cup, dry and weigh. Calculate the result by difference method using the following formula.
