15.1 Introduction

An endoskeleton is a skeleton that is on the inside of the body of an animal. It is an internal supporting structure composed of mineralized tissue. The endoskeleton develops within the skin or the deeper body tissues. It participates in protection, helps in movement, provides shape and support and stores minerals like calcium. Gerringer et al. (2021) suggested that changes in skeletal structure are non linear and are driven by hydrostatic pressure, other environmental factors and evolutionary ancestry.

The skeleton of abdomen and pelvis (Fig. 4-1) consists of the lumbar vertebrae that form the dorsal boundary or roof of the abdomen, sacral vertebrae or the sacrum that forms the dorsal boundary or the roof of the pelvic cavity, the xiphoid cartilage of the sternum that provides attachment to the strong ligaments of the abdominal floor and the pelvic bone (pelvis) that forms the floor and lateral wall of the pelvic cavity.

Lumbar vertebrae

The lumbar vertebrae (Fig. 4-1 A) in ox are six in number. These are characterized by great size and form of their transverse processes. The other characteristic features of lumbar vertebrae are as below.

The body of the vertebra is much compressed dorsoventrally. The convexity of the cranial extremity and concavity of the caudal extremity of the body of the vertebra is moderate. The arch of the first lumbar vertebra is similar in size to that of the last thoracic vertebra but behind this the arches of the second to sixth lumbar vertebra gradually increase in height and width. The caudal notches are deeper than the cranial one. The intervertebral foramina of the first few lumbar segments are often double.

The fore limb is termed as pectoral limb or thoracic limb (Fig. 5-1). It is attached to the thorax by means of muscles of pectoral girdle (shoulder girdle). It is composed of four major segments, the shoulder girdle, arm, forearm and manus. The skeleton of shoulder girdle is formed by the shoulder bone, the scapula. The arm is formed by the arm bone the humerus. The forearm is formed by two bones the radius and ulna; and the manus is formed by the carpus consisting of six short bones –the carpal bones arranged in two layers, the metacarpus consisting of one large and one small metacarpal bones and the digits consisting of six short bones the phalanges and six small sesamoids arranged in two rows for each limb.

Shoulder girdle

The shoulder girdle (thoracic girdle or pectoral girdle) in general is composed of the scapula, coracoid and clavicle. In ruminants the scapula is well developed, the coracoid is in the form of a small rounded process fused with the ventral end of the scapula and the clavicle is absent or in some subjects it occurs embedded in the brachiocephalicus muscle cranial to the point of the shoulder. But this possibility is very rare. Hence, in ox only scapula is considered as the bone of shoulder girdle.

Scapula

The scapula is a flat triangular bone applied obliquely ventrad and craniad against the cranial part of the lateral wall of thorax. Its long axis extends from the fourth thoracic spine to the sternal end of the first rib. It presents two surfaces, three borders and three angles.

The bones of skull (Fig 2-1) are divided into two groups, as cranial group of bones and facial group of bones. Most of the bones of the skull are flat bones and a few are irregular bones.

Cranial bones

The cranial bones form the cranium that encloses and protects the brain and organs of special senses e.g. eye and ear. These bones include the occipital, sphenoid, ethmoid, inter-parietal, parietal, temporal and frontal. The first four of these bones are single and the rests are paired.

Occipital

The occipital is a single bone (Fig 2 -1C) and is situated on the caudo- dorsal aspect of the skull. It consists of three parts, the lateral parts are called lateral occipital, the basal part is called the basi occipital and the dorsal (squamous) part is called the squamous occipital.

The hind limb (Fig. 6-1) is termed as pelvic limb and it consists of four segments-the pelvic or hip region, thigh, leg and the pes region. The skeleton of pelvic region is formed by the pelvic girdle (os coxae). The skeleton of thigh region is mainly formed by a long bone (thigh bone) the femur and at its lower extremity is a short sesamoid bone, the patella. The leg region is formed by two long bones, the larger one the tibia and the smaller one the fibula. The last segment, the pes has three subdivisions as tarsus, metatarsus and digits. The tarsus has five short bones arranged in two rows on par with the carpus of fore limb. The metatarsus is constituted by two bones of which one is a long bone called the large metatarsal and the other a short small rudimentary bone the small metatarsal bone. The last part of the hind limb is the digits which are constituted by six phalanges and six sesamoids like those of the forelimb.

Cervical vertebrae

The skeleton of neck (Fig 2-1) is formed by the cervical vertebrae. These are seven in number. Of these, the first and second cervical vertebrae are highly modified and deviate greatly from the general architectural plan of the vertebrae. The third, fourth and fifth cervical vertebrae are similar and confirm the general plan of the vertebrae. The sixth and seventh vertebrae have some special characteristics but do not deviate much from the general plan. The general plan of vertebrae and the vertebral column has been described in the chapter on skeletal system under Part I on systemic anatomy. Hence, only regional specific characters of the cervical vertebrae are described hereunder.

First cervical vertebra (Atlas)

The first cervical vertebra (Figure 2-2 A) is called the atlas vertebra because in man it supports the globe of the head. This is an atypical vertebra and it deviates greatly from the general plan of vertebrae. The body and the spinous process are absent. The arch forms a bony ring from which two large curved plates, the wings project laterally. The ring encloses the vertebral foramen. It forms a part of the vertebral canal through which passes the spinal cord.

The skeleton of thorax (Fig. 3-1) consists of a bony cage formed by thirteen thoracic vertebrae constituting its dorsal boundary and roof, thirteen pairs of ribs forming its lateral walls, the costal cartilages which assist the ribs to form the lateral walls and the sternum forming its floor.

The general architecture of the vertebrae and the vertebral column is described in the chapter on skeletal system under PART ONE (Systemic anatomy) of this book. Only the deviations from the general characteristics of vertebrae as occur in the thoracic vertebrae are described here in the following account on the thoracic vertebrae.

Thoracic vertebrae

These are thirteen in number in ox (Fig. 3-1 A and B) The characteristic features of these vertebrae are the presence of capitular facets for articulation with the head of the rib and the greater development of dorsal spinous processes (neural spines).for attachment of muscles of the back and the supraspinous ligament that helps in the ligamentum nuchae to extend and suspend the head with the body trunk.

As the agricultural sector continues to face growing challenges from climate variability, weather extremes, and changing environmental conditions, the need for well-trained and informed professionals has never been more pressing. Skill Advancement and Knowledge Empowerment (SAKE) is crucial for ensuring that stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural advisors, policymakers, and meteorological service providers, have the necessary expertise to harness the benefits of agricultural meteorology (Fig. 13.1). This chapter focuses on the education, training, and capacity-building initiatives required to enhance the skills and knowledge of individuals working in operational agricultural meteorology. It explores the various levels of education and training needed, from basic awareness and understanding of meteorological concepts to advanced technical skills and specialized knowledge in areas such as agrometeorological modeling, data analysis, and decision-support systems. The chapter begins by discussing the importance of SAKE in the context of agricultural meteorology, highlighting the key challenges and opportunities in this field. It then examines the different types of education and training programs that can be implemented to address these challenges, including formal education, vocational training, workshops, and online courses. Introduction

India possesses abundant human resources due to its demographic dividend. With a population of approximately 1.39 billion, rural areas are home to about 68.84% of the total population, constituting more than two-thirds (Census 2011, GoI). According to the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) in 2019, about 58.3% of rural households rely on agricultural activities as their primary source of income. Despite the significant reliance on agriculture for livelihoods, the agricultural situation in India is challenging.

Introduction

India is known to possess a significant demographic dividend due to its large and growing population where the female population is estimated to be 586.5 million or above currently. This population is characterized by vast regional and cultural differences that create difference in terms of region and culture due to which any kind of generalization is not possible. Women play a crucial role in the growth of the economy and over the years, they had made a substantial impact and achieved status across different sectors both within the country and overseas. Women is a part of workforce but still there is a large population of women both in rural and urban areas that has dreams, but lack the opportunities to realize those dreams and take up their roles other than the household ones. In this regard, it is essential for to promote skill development and women empowerment. In order to upgrade employability and other skills among women, there is need to reduce the unemployment, demographic dividend, cultural and regional barriers and bridge the gap between talent and industry by various innovative methods.

Proactive involvement of society is essential to attain the sustainable development and bring the desired change in the society. Women in economically disadvantaged areas lack opportunities for employment and for self-employment due to various causes and sometimes women in need are on the look-out for affordable vocational courses that is not only of interest to them but also enables them to enhance their employability. Women from these areas can be equipped with the skills they need to increase their employability so that they can access meaningful and sustainable employment, and self employment through entrepreneurship. UNICEF is also assisting women to build stronger links with the private sectors so that they have sustainable market access for their artisanal goods including those who are running home based business.

The comfortable reliance on historical data and linear projections is increasingly inadequate in a world characterized by unprecedented c limate variability, intensifying extreme weather events (as you‘ve extensively researched), and the urgent need for enhanced food security for a growing global population.
• The limitations of traditional agricultural meteorology become increasingly apparent when confronted with the complexities of climate change. For instance, relying solely on historical rainfall patterns for irrigation planning becomes precarious when those patterns are drastically altered by shifting climate regimes. Traditional pest and disease forecasting models, often based on established temperature and humidity thresholds, may fail to accurately predict outbreaks as these thresholds themselves are disrupted by climate anomalies. The need for real-time, localized, and predictive insights into the dynamic interplay between the atmosphere and agricultural systems has never been more critical.

11.1. Slaughtering and Dressing

    1.    Rabbits are killed by one of two methods. The preferred method is dislocation of the neck. The rabbit is held firmly by the rear legs and head; it is stretched full length. Then with a hard, sharp pull, the head is bent backward to dislocate the neck. The rabbit can also be struck a hard, quick blow to the skull behind the ears. A blunt stick or side of the hand is commonly used to incapacitate the rabbit. Both methods quickly render the rabbit unconscious.

Slaughtering and dressing of different kinds of animals and birds is an age old practice. Initially slaughtering was done by cutting the throat or stabbing the throat or breast. But today’s world of progress and scientific evolution slaughter methods has undergone material changes. Scientifically there are two essentials of slaughtering i.e. humane slaughter to avoid unnecessary pain and sufferings to the animals and complete bleeding. Legislations require stunning of animals to render them unconscious before bleeding except in Jewish and Muslim slaughter. The animals subjected to slaughter must be clean which is generally achieved by cleaning. The premises and transportation vehicles should also be maintained in good hygienic and sanitary conditions. All the facilities required for slaughter animals and birds arranged well in advance. In commercial plants and export units, slaughtering and dressing is performed on overhead rails but for domestic use, booth and simple rails may serve the purpose due to low throughput. Abstract

The present study deals with the slope instability analysis of a vulnerable stretch of 16 km between Pratapgarh road intersection and Mahabaleshwar town, which is a part of the state highway-72, Satara district, Maharashtra, India. The highway remains closed during the monsoon seasons, due to the recurrent instances of cut slope failures. So the present research work was conducted with an aim to study the reasons, extent and mechanism of the cut slope failures along the road sections as well as optimization of tools for the assessment of road cut stability of the area. The 16 km stretch was divided into seven vulnerable sections (M1; near Mahabaleshwar - M7; near Poladpur) based on the geological, geometrical and structural attributes. The slope forming mass primarily consists of laterite, weathered basalt and fresh jointed basalt, which are interbedded with red bole at some sections. Limit equilibrium, finite difference and finite element simulation were performed for seven cut slope sections, using similar geometries and material strength attributes for all the analyzing techniques. The assessment was carried out for both dry and saturated conditions to emulate the monsoons. The factor of safety yielded through the limit equilibrium method was the most conservative of all the tools; while the finite element method gave the least conservative figures in terms of factors of safety, being close to the field observations, the safety factor results of finite difference methods were between the limit equilibrium and finite element methods. The cut slope sections composed of weathered basalts and laterites (M1, M2, M3, M6) were found most vulnerable to failure during rains, while the sections composed of fresh jointed basalts (M4 & M5), though overall stable, are susceptible to planar and wedge failures.

The general distribution of density in the oceans is like a two layer ocean as shown in Fig.5.1 below. A layer of more or less uniform density (nearly vertical) near the surface called as isopycnal layer and a deeper layer of higher density below with sharp increase of density is called as pycnocline.

Abstract

The Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh is prone to landslides due to inherent geodynamic conditions, rainfall and anthropogeny. Besides multi-variate studies on the landslides of Himachal Pradesh, instrument based early warning system was attempted by taking Jhakri landslides as the test site. Various instruments viz; piezometer, vertical inclinometer, Rain gauge, etc. were installed and the paper discusses about the methodology adopted in the installation of the instruments and the observations made from the instruments. While Piezometer did not reveal much information, the Tiltmeter showed minor movements.

Fertilizers have played a pivotal role in enhancing food grain production in India especially after the introduction of high yielding and fertilizer responsive crop varieties during the green revolution era. However, there are certain problems associated with fertilizers because of their relatively low nutrient use efficiency (NUE) or nutrient uptake by crops. The fertilizer use efficiency is 30-50% for N, 15-20% for P, 70-80% for K and 8-10% for S. In case of micronutrients, the use efficiency is only 1-2%. The low NUE is typically the result of higher release rate of fertilizers than the absorption rate by plants, and/or transformation of fertilizers/ nutrients to forms that are not bioavailable to crops.

Application of N and P fertilizers at levels exceeding plant requirements due to low acquisition efficiency leads to significant environmental consequences in many parts of the world due to losses, such as nitrate (NO₃^-) leaching, NH₃ volatilization, and nitrous oxide (N₂O) emission. Excessive use of fertilizer N affects the groundwater. Similarly, excessive use of N and P fertilizers leads to surface runoff which in turn causes eutrophication in aquatic ecosystems. These negative environmental consequences associated with fertilizer inputs further emphasize the need of technological approaches to improve nutrient management in modern agriculture. As such, there is great need in developing innovative fertilizers to minimize the losses of nutrients and increase their efficiencies.

In addition, current agricultural activities contribute up to 20-30% to the annual atmospheric emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs), such as methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). Even higher contribution is being noted for N₂O (about 60%), which is a potent GHG and catalyst for stratospheric ozone depletion, with more than 300 times the global warming potential than CO₂. Its emission is closely related to mineral fertilizer input. High fertilization rates lead to N and P losses with negative impacts on atmospheric GHGs concentrations and water quality.

There is an urgent need to improve NUE in agricultural systems, and to manage biogeochemical cycles in a sustainable way. This includes the development and application of modern technology as alternatives to conventional fertilization. There is a need to reduce the use of fertilizers/nutrients in agricultural systems by increasing NUE. The recent development in smart fertilizer delivery systems including nanofertilizers or the new generation fertilizers is a good alternative to commercially available fertilizers to improve the NUE and enhance resource utilization. Smart fertilizers may be a solution to enhance food production and environmental quality.

The wind blows over the water, changing its surface into ripples and then to waves. Thus most of the normal waves are wind-driven. As waves grow in height, the wind pushes them along faster and higher. Sometimes waves can become unexpectedly strong and destructive. As waves enter shallow water, they become taller and slow down, eventually break on the shore.

12.1. Practice of SMEs in Africa-Critical Review

Previous studies in Kenya have focused on the role of entrepreneurship education in job creation, enterprise management and economic development (Simiyu, 2010; Mwangi, 2011; Warren, 2011); hardly any have addressed the process of delivering entrepreneurship education. Research provides new knowledge to guide educational practice, by making an initial foray into the teaching of entrepreneurship education in Kenya. The envisaged entrepreneurially empowered TTI graduate is a product of the training function. This book examines factors which affect implementation of entrepreneurship education programme in TTIs in Kenya. The variables investigated were teaching methods, assessment methods, teacher’s network, and availability of training resources. The findings show that teachers do not accord entrepreneurship education t he appropriate pedagogical approach that it deserves; they seem resigned to using ineffective traditional pedagogies. Meanwhile, the subject is inadequately resourced by TTI administrations. The results of this research invite the attention of entrepreneurship educators, practitioners and stakeholders to employ effective strategies for dev eloping entrepreneurial key competencies in TTI trainees.

The Committee on Economic Development has defined small business as one which satisfies two or more of the following criteria.

• Management is independent (usually the managers are owners).
• Capital is supplied and ownership is held by an individual or small group.
• The area of operation is mainly local. Workers and owners are in one home community. Markets need not be local.
• Relative size within the industry – the business is small when compared to the biggest in its field. The size of the top bracket varies greatly so that what might seem large in field would be definitely small in another.

Abstract

“Darjeeling Tea” as a global brand brings attention to the Darjeeling District and creates a global imaginary which obliterates the dark colonial history, existing exploitation of the workers and the natural resources of the region. The global brand name is protected under the certification trademarks which has a geographical indication. Thus only tea from the 87 tea plantations can be called Darjeeling Tea. There is an increasing trend towards Darjeeling Tea going organic and fairtrade. This trend is critiqued with questions of how green and fair can a monoculture plantation get. Within this imaginary, small farmers’ tea offers an alternative paradigm based on equity and diversity. This paper explores the alternative by highlighting the (United Development Organization) journey of a small farmers collective Mineral Spring SanjuktaVikashSanstha.

Each category has unique characteristics, challenges, and significance within the economy. Value chains are integral to understanding how these enterprises operate and compete in the market. Enterprises in agriculture and allied sectors are classified based on investment, turnover, and scale of operation. These enterprises form the backbone of agri-based value chains, providing crucial support in production, processing, storage, marketing, and distribution.

Small millets and Pseudo cereals are staple food for millions of small and marginal farming community and household in developing and under developed countries. They are major source of fodder and feed material for livestock. They are nutritionally alike or superior to major cereal grains with additional advantage of proteins (gluten-free), enhanced fiber, lower glycemic index and bioactive phyto chemicals made them an appropriate balanced health food.

Small millets such as foxtail millet, proso millet, finger millet, barnyard millet, kodo millet, fonio millet, teff and little millet and pseudo cereals such as buckwheat,quinoa, amaranth and cockscomb and chia are the oldest crops and staple food for millions of people around the world. Small millets and pseudo cereals are the main source of fodder and feed material for livestock.

Small ruminants (goat and sheep) rearing are considered as natural farming based on two grounds, i.e., (i) their survival on natural resources and are climate resilient, (ii) out of pocket expenses are minimal (Nardone et al., 2004). These animals contributes as livelihood and income augmentation sources for resource poor farmers and immensely contributes by providing milk, meat, f iber, skin, and manure. Goat rearing is done for milk and meat, while sheep is reared mainly for wool and meat purposes and limited use of milk. Goat milk has very high demand globally because of its nutraceutical properties and easy digestibility than bovine milk (Clark et al., 2017), overcome problem of lactose intolerance (Pal et al., 2017), and its nutritionally similarity to human milk (Rai et. al., 2022).

The health benefits of goat milk such as anti-hypertensive, overcome dengue fever, probiotic, antioxidant, antimicrobial properties, and good for gut health are widely recognised by the researchers. The market price of goat milk is almost three times the price of cow milk in different parts of Asia highlighting its income augmentation potential form marginal and small farmers (Liang & Paengkoum, 2019).

Along with raw milk sales, India has an opportunity to expand the processing of goat milk into value-added products which might be highly competent in the international market (Devendra and Liang, 2012). The goat milk products which have export market are: frozen yoghurt, fortified or flavoredmilk, ice cream, butter milk, dried milk or condensed milk product, whey protein concentrate, ghee etc.

Indian hot arid zone which is about 12% of total geographical area of the landmass of 0.32 million km² has maximum covering in western Rajasthan i.e. 61% of the total area whereas the other areas in arid region are available in the states of Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka accounting for 20, 5, 4, 7 and 3% of hot arid area whereas the cold arid area of 8.4 million ha lies in the state of Jammu & Kashmir covering the Leh and Ladakh region.

The hot arid area is characterized by frequent droughts of 47% of frequency in the last century of moderate to severe nature. Due to higher occurrence frequency of droughts in this region of state, the livestock assumes great importance as a drought management measure as agriculture is at the mercy of rainfall pattern which is very uncertain in amount as well as distribution coupled with poor soil condition, higher evapotranspiration and higher wind velocity causing the soil erosion.

For arid region of Rajasthanthe general climatic conditions, topographical features and biotic factors do not encourage agricultural operations in the absence of extractive industry the peasantry has to fall upon animal husbandry as their main occupation. Rearing some of the finest breed of cattle, camel, sheep and goats known for their endurance making much use of the meagre feed resources which are grasses ,herbs, shrubs, tree leaves and cultivated feed and fodder crops. Livestock farming has some in built superiority over crop farming as far as growth; stability and resource conservation are concerned. On an average, the region experiences 3 years of drought in every 10 years. The natural forces constituting the soil-climatic complex, which conspire to reduce the crop productivity and cause instability in agricultural production, have much less impact on livestock farming. This is due to differences in the nutritive value of natural vegetation, which mainly sustains livestock.

A sample is said to be small sample if the sample size(n) is less than 30. Various small sample tests are: (i) t-test (ii) F-test

t-test performs the following tests for small sample(s).

1. To test the equality between a single sample mean and the assumed population mean.
2. To test the equality of two independent sample means.
3. To test the equality of two paired sample means.
4. To test the equality between sample correlation coefficient and the assumed population correlation coefficient

10.1 Introduction

The assumptions on which analysis of large samples is done generally do not hold well in case of small samples (n < 30). In case of large samples we had presumed that the random sampling distributions of statistics are approximately normal and further that the values obtained by sampling study are close to the population values and can be used in their place for the calculation of the standard error of the estimate. These assumptions do not hold well if the size of the samples may or may not be normally distributed and similarly it is not possible to substitute the mean or the standard deviation of a small sample in place of the parameter mean or standard deviation for the calculation of standard errors. Under such circumstances the analysis of small samples has to be done by techniques which are different from those applicable in case of large samples.

Goat is being raised for centuries as poor man’s cow due to its importance of providing employment in rural areas by producing meat and healthy meat. Goats also play a major role in agriculture economy of India. Goat is excellent source of additional income for poor and landless owners. The goat milk is nutritious and easily digestible milk to their kids. Goats are easy to maintain as they can graze on open land. Goat farming is an excellent option where fodder and forage is limited. Goat farmers can get good returns with successful goat rearing. Now a day, goat farming has become more commercial and many people are taking up as a challenge to meet the demand and supply. Rank of India in goat population is 2^nd. Total goat population in the country is 148.88 million during 2019. Total goat has increased by 10.14% over previous livestock census (2012). About 27.8 % of the total is contributed by goats.

Small ruminants is a composite term used for sheep and goats. Throughout the developing countries, small ruminants make a very valuable contribution, especially to the poor in the rural areas. These contributions range from precious animal proteins (meat and milk) to fibre and skins, draught power in the highlands, food security and stable households. By and large, the importance and extent of the contributions are inadequately understood as a consequence of which these valuable genetic resources continue to be generally neglected. Research and development investments to improve the relatively low level of contribution do not match their potential importance, the contribution to nutritional security and livelihoods of the poor in rural areas. Species like goat and sheep are of short-generation interval, have a high prolificacy rate and require less land, investment and operational expenses and are better suited to the resource endowment of the poor.

Sheep is a multi-utility animal used for the production of wool, meat, skins and manure. They don’t require costly structures to house them. Sheep are sparing convertor of grass into meat and wool. The structure of their lips causes them to clean grains last to collect time and in this way convert waste feed into gainful items. Sheep eat different types of weed plant. This makes them phenomenal weed destroyer. They don’t damage plant like goats. They thrive well even under bad management practices. Unemployed youth can adopt sheep rearing as a source of gainful employment. Total sheep population in the country is 74.26 million during 2019. Total sheep has increased by 14.133% over previous livestock census (2012). About 13.8 % of the total livestock is contributed by sheep.

Frog farming in Thailand started 20 years ago. The frogs commonly found and farmed in Thailand are the local species, Rana tigerina and Rana rugulosa. The first imported bullfrog, Rana catesbeiana was introduced in 1980 and is popular in the northern part of the country. Rana tigerina is olive brown in colour which is about 15cm long when fully grown. The adult weighs about 300g. Rana rugulosa is another local species that is olive-brown in colour with a dark head. It is about 13cm long when fully grown and weighs about 270g. The imported species, Rana catesbeiana is olive-brown to green in colour. It is 17 cm long when fully grown and weighs around 459g.

By 2050, the global population is projected to reach approximately 9.8 billion, requiring a 70% increase in food production to meet the growing dietary demands. The livestock sector will play a crucial role in addressing this rising need through sustainable animal production, contributing to food security, poverty alleviation, public health, and food safety. To tackle the challenges posed by population growth and to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), technological advancements and innovations will be essential in transforming the food and agriculture sectors.

In light of these challenges, Veterinary Services are more critical than ever. They are essential for enhancing livestock health and productivity, ensuring high-quality food that meets safety standards, and mitigating risks associated with animal diseases and public health. Additionally, Veterinary Services must contribute to global efforts in addressing issues such as food security, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources.
