Introduction

Plant growth regulators are defined as small, simple chemicals produced naturally by plants to regulate their growth and development and are essential for regulating their own growth. They act by controlling or modifying plant growth processes, such as formation of leaves and flowers and elongation of stems.

In modern forest nursery raising, the benefits of extending the use of plant hormones to regulate the growth of economically important plants have been established. There are two possible goals in inducing trees to form floral buds, in particular, female buds. The first is to achieve precocity. Precocious flowering in normally immature trees can provide advantages in breeding and seed production because it overcomes a substantial seed production delay intrinsic to late-maturing conifers. The second reason is the phase change from juvenile growth to mature growth. The induction of either precocity or increased male flower and female cone formation are generally the result of applied treatments. A few studies have focused on the intrinsic physiological differences between high and low producing clones.

Poultry diseases pose a significant threat to commercial poultry production, often resulting in substantial economic losses due to high mortality and morbidity. Early diagnosis and effective management of these diseases are crucial, as many diseases share similar symptoms, making timely and accurate identification challenging. Poultry diseases can be broadly classified into bacterial, viral, fungal, protozoan, parasitic, and nutritional deficiency diseases. Innovation: Introducing new or improved products, services, or processes. Value addition in medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) is essential to enhance their economic value, quality, and marketability. Here are key reasons why value addition is necessary:
Enhanced economic value
Value addition increases the economic value of MAPs, benefiting farmers and stakeholders. Primary processing and value addition are crucial in this regard. For instance, drying, cleaning, grading, and packaging are essential steps in adding value to MAPs.
Improved quality and shelf life Value addition helps preserve the bioactive compounds and aroma of MAPs, extending their shelf life. Techniques such as drying, extraction, and storage in airtight containers are vital in maintaining the quality of MAPs.

Abstract

The effect of watershed management programme was studied with introduction of new crop-cultivars including six rainy season crops namely direct seeded rice (drilled rice), transplanted rice, arhar, groundnut, sesamum and maize and two winter season crops namely mustard and wheat. The crop demonstration programme were undertaken for consecutive four years during 1988 to 1991 to utilize different land situations and for effective use of created irrigation potential at a drought prone tract of West Bengal (India). The results of the crop demonstration revealed that with selection of crops and its suitable varieties, adopting improved agronomic practices including scientific management of fertilizers and irrigation water, plant protection measures, the productivity of both land and crops markedly increased. The crop production strategy on the basis of land capability classification changed the land use, cropping pattern and crop intensity in the watershed area.

Inventory management system is a computer based system for creating work orders at a processing plant, tracking inventory levels in the go downs, , sales and seed movement out of the processing plant. These modern systems avoid book maintenance and save lots of space. It will also tool for avoiding overstock or delay in movement of seed material for packaging. In most of the processing plants SAP is the most popular inventory management tool which is more efficient than others. SAP is basically a tool of enterprise resource planning which help in material management. The customised software can be used very effectively in a processing plant for the following operations.

Growth and differentiation are regulated by a group of organic compounds known as growth regulators. These growth regulators regulate growth not only at the organ level but also in the plant as a whole. They can be broadly defined as organic compounds synthesized in one part of a plant transported to another where at very low concentration they cause a physiological response.

There are five major groups of growth regulators, namely, the Auxins, Gibberellins, Cytokinins, Ethylene andAbscisic acid. Endogenously synthesized growth regulators are often referred to as plant growth hormones. However, a number of synthetic compounds eliciting similar response as that of the growth hormones have been identified and extensively used. These synthetic hormones effectively substitute the endogenous hormones to understand the basic mechanisms of hormones and also for commercial use.

The psychological sets that can be barriers to communication can be characterized into several basic categories. These sets can occur in the sender or in the receiver in the communication process. The sender has the ability to recognize these barrier categories when they occur and to transform communication to overcome them. However, the receiver is a different story. If the receiver is interested in communication, he or she can recognize when these barriers arise and can consciously overcome them. On the other hand, when a receiver is passive in the communication process, he or she does not recognize the barriers and the sender can do little to overcome the blockage.

Mange or parasitic dermatitis is caused by the infestation of mange mites e.g. Sarcoptes, Psoroptes, Demodex spp. and a range of other mites. The condition is characterized by itching and rubbing of the infested parts of the body against hard objects. Lesions include hair loss, dry, rough, thickened and wrinkled skin accompanied by the presence of scab and foul odour in some cases. Some mites burrow into the host epidermis (Sarcoptes) while others spend their entire life cycle on the skin surface (Psoroptes). Most mites are microscopic or less than 1mm in length; therefore skin scrapings are taken from the affected area of animals suspected to be suffering from mange or parasitic dermatitis

Most common improvement of host resistance to almost any pathogen is brought about by improving the genetic resistance of the host, that is by breeding and using resistance varieties.

Genetic engineering technology made possible the isolation of individual resistance (R) genes from resistant plants and the transfer of such genes into susceptible plants in which they induce the hypersensitive resistant response.

The term “Poultry” indicates to all the domesticated species of birds like chicken, ducks, turkeys, Japanese quail, guinea fowls, geese, pigeons, ostrich, emu etc. Ducks account for 7% of poultry population and are mostly found in coastal states of the country and in states with more lakes and rivers like West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Tripura. a variety of interrelated factors. The first and foremost is the agro-climatic condition of the area, which includes soil type, rainfall pattern, temperature, humidity, and elevation. These factors determine the suitability of different
enterprises and their possible combinations. For example, fish farming is more viable in water-abundant regions, while goat farming is more appropriate in dry or hilly regions. Landholding size and its layout also greatly influence
enterprise integration. Farmers with larger and well-demarcated plots have more flexibility to integrate different components such as ponds for fish, sheds for livestock, and space for crops or horticulture. On the other hand, marginal and small farmers may find it challenging to accommodate multiple enterprises without careful planning. Similarly, water availability is a key determinant, especially for integrating enterprises like fishery, dairy, and horticulture, which require regular and ample water supply. The presence of water harvesting structures or access to irrigation facilities enhances integration potential.
