The performance of a single-phase induction motor is generally studied either by double revolving field theory or by cross field theory, the former being simple and gives a clear physical understanding.

The Balwant Rai Mehta Committee, in its 1957 report, proposed the establishment of a Panchayati Raj System consisting of three tiers: Gram Panchayats at the village level, Panchayat Samitis at the block or intermediate level, and Zila Parishad at the district level. The National Development Council also supported a similar structure in 1958, with villages at the bottom and districts at the top. However, it was the 73rd Constitutional Amendment in 1992 that gave the Panchayati Raj System its current form. Most states now have Panchayati Raj Institutions operating at three levels: village, intermediate, and district. However, smaller states with populations under 20 lakh have only two tiers: the village level and the district level.

Introduction

Pedagogy in higher education is often referred to as activities of educating, instructing or teaching to impart knowledge and skills (Diaz, 2013). With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in the year 2020, instructors worldwide faced a challenge in maintaining the teaching pedagogy suited to the online teaching environments. Many instructors with no prior experience teaching online started developing new approaches to solve the challenges in a changing landscape. The main challenges to solve was concerning creating favourable learning experiences, creating engaging classroom experiences, and meeting the expectations of all the students in the online environment (Teachonline, 2020). The internet has provided a wide range of opportunities, leading to uninterrupted education through various conferencing platforms. Since the year 2000, the proliferation of Web 2.0 was tested in the field of education with several tools such as blogs, wiki articles and use of social media channels. Web 2.0 provided increasing scope to the teachers and students to create, edit and share content which is appealing to the learners. Currently, we have entered the Web 3.0 era in which the technologies can be customized to enhance the learning environment for better facilitation of learning needs.

Essential oil obtained from aromatic plants is a mixture of several naturally arising biochemical compounds that occur in some plants which have scented flowers, leaves, bark, seeds, stem wood, or roots. As per the
biochemical view, the active ingredients of essential oils are tranquil of oxygenated hydrocarbons and several other types of hydrocarbons which may be clustered conferring to their biochemical structure into esters, terpenes, aldehydes, alcohols, phenols and ketones etc. Carbon is considered as the basic element for all kinds of essential oils. Majority of essential oil compounds are made of C, H, O, N and S atoms. The atom of these different kind of elements are joined to each other to make the essentia oil molecules. These biomolecules are made up of five carbon atoms is named isoprene. All essential oil compounds mainly consist terpenic compounds having two or more than two isoprene units (C5). These Isoprene units (C5) are generally attached to each other in head to tail fashion, hence ‘isoprene rule’ is followed. When two units of isoprene (10 C) are joint together, they form what is known as monoterpenes. Likewise, when three, four, five, six and eight units are united, they are called sesquiterpenes, diterpenes, sesterterpenes, triterpenes and tetraterpenes, respectively. These terpenes are colourless liquids and are generally lighter than water. They are highly refractive and insoluble in water. The ‘terpene’ term is usually restricted to hydrocarbon but on addition of oxygen in it, these are called terpenoids. These include menthol, cirtral, linalool, geraniol, carotenes, camphor, thymol, menthone etc. (Maheshwari, 1995).
Generally, the essential oil is extracted from aromatic plants through various methods but for production of essential oil for aromatherapy, the only suitable methods are those that are non-toxic. This contains cold pressing, distillation, and, in some cases, extraction by using the non-toxic solvents.

Effective offline video editing techniques, which allow for the editing of low-resolution proxies of the original footage, are crucial for enhancing workflow efficiency, particularly in large-scale or resource-heavy projects.
This chapter will guide you through the fundamental working methods of offline video editing, focusing on the process of importing video footage into your editing system, preparing that footage for editing, and understanding how offline editing fits into the overall post-production pipeline.
1. Understanding the Workflow of Offline Editing
Offline video editing is a method used to edit a project using lower-resolution versions (or proxies) of the original high-resolution video footage. This method allows editors to work faster, save on computer processing power and storage space, and still be able to create a solid edit that can later be “conformed” to the original high-resolution footage in the final stage of post-production (referred to as “online editing”).

Spontaneous hyperglyceridemia is a metabolic condition characterized by abnormally high levels of glycerol and triglycerides in the bloodstream. This condition can occur in various animal species, including dogs, cats, horses, and ruminants, and is often linked to underlying metabolic or endocrine disorders. Left unmanaged, hyperglyceridemia can lead to severe health complications, including pancreatitis, hepatic lipidosis, and cardiovascular issues. Nutritional management is a cornerstone of treatment and prevention for this condition. Hyperglyceridemia results from an imbalance in the metabolism of triglycerides and glycerol. Normally, dietary fats are broken down into glycerol and free fatty acids, which are absorbed, processed in the liver, and utilized for energy or stored. Hyperglyceridemia arises when triglyceride production exceeds utilization or clearance from the bloodstream.
Causes and risk factors
1. Genetic predisposition: Breeds like Miniature Schnauzers, Shetland Sheepdogs, and Beagles are predisposed to hyperglyceridemia in dogs.
2. Obesity: Excess fat tissue increases triglyceride synthesis and decreases clearance.
3. Endocrine disorders: Conditions like diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and Cushing’s syndrome can impair lipid metabolism.

Quantitative Versus Qualitative Inheritance

There is a continuum of traits being inherited as a Mendelian trait with simple inheritance and traits having quantitative inheritance without well separated classes and with many genes involved.
Classification of traits in relation to mode of inheritance and environmental tolerance are shown in Figure 1.2. First there are the well known traits with simple Mendelian mode of inheritance. The trait with quantitative genetic inheritance is caused by segregation of many gene pairs, each with small effect. At the same time the trait is influenced by a lot of minor environmental effects.
Diseases will often be ‘either/or traits’ as the simple Mendelian traits. Cases in which the severity of the disease has a normal distribution can also be found. In many production diseases the disease only occurs when a genetically prone individual is exposed to adverse environmental effects. Figure 1. 14.1. EGGS

India is the third largest producer of eggs. Fresh eggs are gathered on automatic collection belts at the farm and stored in a cooler at about 7°C. The eggs are then delivered to a central processing plant, where they are washed, sanitized, and graded. Grading involves the sorting of eggs into size and quality categories using automated machines. Flash candling (passing the eggs over a strong light source) detects any abnormalities such as cracked eggs and eggs containing bloodspots or other defects. Higher-grade eggs have a thick, upstanding white, an oval yolk, and a clean, smooth, unbroken shell.

14.1.1. Eggs Contamination

More than 90 percent of all eggs are free of contamination at the time they are laid; contamination with Salmonella bacteria and with certain spoilage organisms occurs essentially afterward. They become contaminated by faecal matter from the hen, by the lining of nest, by handling, by wash water and packing materials. The total number of microorganisms per shell of a hen’s egg was found to range from 100 to 10,000,000 with a mean of about 100,000. Proper washing and sanitizing of eggs eliminates most Salmonella and spoilage organisms deposited on the shell. The organism Salmonella enteritidis, a common cause of gastroenteritis (a form of food poisoning), has been found to be transferred through the hen ovary in fewer than 1 percent of all eggs produced. Ovarian- transferred S. enteritidis can be controlled by thorough cooking of eggs (i.e., until there are no runny whites or yolk).

INTRODUCTION

Plant diseases have caused severe losses to humans in several ways. Starvation and uprooting of families resulted from the Irish famine caused by potato late blight . A valued resource was lost with the virtual elimination of the American chestnut by chestnut blight. And direct economic loss such as the estimated one billion dollars lost in one year to American corn growers from southern corn leaf blight . Many plant diseases cause less dramatic losses annually throughout the world but collectively constitute sizable losses to farmers and can reduce the aesthetic values of landscape plants and home gardens.

The goal of plant disease management is to reduce the economic and aesthetic damage caused by plant diseases. Conventionally, this has been called plant disease control, but current social and environmental values believe “control” as being absolute and the term too rigid. More multifaceted approaches to disease management, and integrated disease management, have resulted from this shift in attitude. However, single, often severe, measures, such as pesticide applications, soil fumigation or burning are no longer in common use. Further, disease management measures are often determined by disease forecasting or disease modeling rather than on either a calendar or prescription basis. Disease management might be viewed as proactive whereas disease control is reactive, although it is often difficult to distinguish between the two concepts, especially in the application of specific measures.

Plant disease management practices rely on anticipating occurrence of disease and attacking vulnerable points in the disease cycle (i.e., weak links in the infection chain). Therefore, correct diagnosis of a disease is necessary to identify the pathogen, which is the real target of any disease management program. A thorough understanding of the disease cycle, including climatic and other environmental factors that influence the cycle, and cultural requirements of the host plant, are essential to effective management of any disease.

If frost has hit an orchard during winters, it does not always imply that permanent loss has occurred. Plants do possess natural protective mechanisms due to which they survive the stress to a variable extent depending upon their nature and organ being exposed to the stress.

Village Panchayats existed in India long back, but the system has inherent weaknesses like the inability to be a people's government responsiveness to their needs. This was due to a variety of factors like a lack of financial resources, no regular elections and inadequate representation of the weaker sections (scheduled castes/ tribes and women) of the society. The Directive Principles of State Policy in the Constitution of India lays down in Article 40 that the government should facilitate the establishment and smooth functioning of the gram panchayats.

Today, ICT is nothing but a blend of both which is yielding and having a good impact on the education scenario. ICT applications are undoubtedly improving the education system in all aspects. Escueta et al. (2017) the educational landscape has been indelibly altered over the past two decades by technological innovation.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycemia due to impaired insulin production, insulin resistance or both. It affects various animal species, including dogs, cats, horses and occasionally other animals like birds and ferrets. This condition requires lifelong management and, if left untreated, can lead to severe complications such as ketoacidosis, neuropathy and organ damage. Understanding diabetes mellitus in animals, its clinical manifestations and appropriate management strategies is essential for improving the quality of life for affected animals.

Farmers database will be an important part of ICT which is required for smooth functioning of various agricultural activities like Farmer’s Trainings, Demonstrations, Crop monitoring, Support to farmers, implementation of various government schemes etc.  This software records farmers Name, Phone number, Sex, Category (SC/ST/Gen),  Number of dependents, Annual agricultural income, whether fully or partially dependent, Land holding size,  Major crops, Village, Block, Sub-division, Land situation (Plains/ Low Hills/ Mid Hills/ High Hills), Soil Reaction, Soil type, (Highly Acidic/Moderately /acidic/Neutral/Alkaline/Highly Alkaline), NPK status, Irrigation facility and information regarding Cattle. From the above record various reports can be generated according to the needs of the scientific personnel. For example soil scientist will have record of soil pH & NPK status of different farmers across the district. Scientist can filter the database to get farmers of a particular soil type to conduct training;

Synonyms : Infectious adenitis, Equine distemper
It is  an acute infectious disease of equines characterized by catarrhal inflammation of the upper respiratory tract with suppuration and abscessation of the associated lymph node.
 
Etiology :  Strepococcus  equi subspecies equi is a Gm+ cocci that produces a -b haemolysin characterized by clear haemolysis surrounding colonies growing on blood agar. It is a biovar or genovar of S. zooepidemicus. Equines are very much susceptible and different genetic clones occur geographically. S. equi varies in virulence which is related to M protein and hyaluronic capsule produced. S. equi variant without capsule causes mild disease.

26.1 Plant Available Fraction of Nickel, Cadmium, Lead and Chromium

The DTPA method was originally developed to extract Mn, Cu, Fe and Zn from slightly acidic to alkaline soils (Lindsay and Norvell, 1978), but in some cases it can be used for other metals also, such as Nickel (Ni), Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb) and Chromium (Cr). Among them Ni is considered as an essential micronutrient. The DTPA is used to extract soil metals by forming chelates with free metals in solution, which lowers their ionic activities so that additional quantities of metal are released from the soil colloids until equilibrium is attained. Triehanolamine (TEA) is used to buffer the extracting solution at pH 7.3 in an attempt to optimize the extraction of various metals. Calcium chloride is included in the extracting solution to minimize dissolution of CaCO₃.

Aim

(a) Perform load test on 3-phase induction motor.

(b) Compute Torque, Output power, Input power, Efficiency, Input power factor and Slip for every load setting and to determine how speed, efficiency, power factor, stator current torque, and slip of an induction motor vary with load.

The load test on induction motor is performed to compute its complete performance i.e. torque, slip, efficiency, power factor etc. During this test, the motor is operated at rated voltage and frequency and normally loaded mechanically by brake and pulley arrangement from the observed data, the performance can be calculated, following the steps given below.

The 73rd and the 74th Constitutional Amendment Acts, 1992 enjoin upon the states to establish a three-tier system of Panchayats at the village, intermediate and district levels and Municipalities in the urban areas respectively. States are expected to devolve adequate powers, responsibilities and finances upon these bodies so as to enable them to prepare plans and implement schemes for economic development and social justice.

These Acts provide a basic framework of decentralisation of powers and authorities to the Panchayati Raj/Municipal bodies at different levels.

The 73^rd and the 74^th Amendments to the Constitution of India are the new chapters in the democratic decentralization process in India.
