Introduction
Stem cells are the undifferentiated cells of the body which have inherent capacity to differentiate and proliferate into any cell type under programmed command. These cells perpetuate themselves through self-renewal by programmed pathways to give rise to new adult cells (Remya et al., 2014). According to plasticity, the stem cells are categorised into totipotent, pluripotent, multipotent and unipotent. Broadly they can also be classified as embryonic stem cells and adult somatic stem cells. Totipotent stem cells are those which can give rise to all types of cells along with placental membranes whereas pluripotent stem cells give rise to all cell types except placental membranes. The multipotent set of stem cells can give rise to more than one cell type and unipotent ones can differentiate into only one type of cells. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which fall under the multipotent stem cells category, have the multilineage potential to differentiate into many mesenchymal lineages like osteocytes, chondrocytes, adipocytes etc. (Kim et. al., 2013). They can be easily isolated from the adipose tissues, bone marrows, muscles, liver, umbilical cords, lungs etc. and can be easily proliferated in vitro. MSCs were first identified from the bone marrow in a pioneering study by Fredenstein et al (1976) who isolated the bone forming progenitor cells from rat bone marrow. Although the MSCs represent very small fraction of 0.001-0.01% of total nucleated marrow cells, they can be isolated and differentiated into multiple lineages under defined culture conditions. They are generally isolated from iliac crest, tibial and femoral marrow compartments along with thoracic and lumbar spine in large animals. Stem cells have been used for cellular therapy and tissue engineering for quite a period of time owing to their regeneration potential. They are unspecialized cells with the ability to renew themselves for long periods without significant changes in their general properties. These cells under the influence of appropriate signals can differentiate into specialized cells with a phenotype distinct from that of the precursor (Kim et al., 2013). It may be that stem

Three key processes— implantation, placentation, and the establishment of fetal circulation—are fundamental to a viable pregnancy. These stages ensure the fetus receives adequate nutrients, oxygen, and support for development. Below is a detailed elaboration of each process.
1. Implantation
Implantation is the process by which the blastocyst (a hollow structure formed in the early development of mammals) embeds itself into the uterine wall. It is the first critical step in establishing a pregnancy.
Phases of Implantation
1. Apposition: The blastocyst loosely attaches to the endometrium (the inner lining of the uterus).
2. Adhesion: The trophoblast cells (outer layer of the blastocyst) firmly attach to the uterine lining.
3. Invasion: The trophoblast differentiates into two layers: Cytotrophoblast: The inner cellular layer that serves as the proliferative zone. Syncytiotrophoblast: The outer multinucleated layer that invades the endometrium, facilitating deeper embedding.
Significance
Implantation typically occurs 6–10 days after fertilization.
It ensures the establishment of an early connection between the embryo and maternal blood supply.
Successful implantation depends on hormonal regulation, especially the roles of estrogen and progesterone, which prepare the endometrium to be receptive.

Introduction
Cardiovascular system consists of heart and blood vessels which include both arteries and veins. The formation of blood vessels occurs in two stages-vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. Blood islands are formed on the yolk sac by clusters of mesodermal cells. Vasculogenesis i.e., formation of blood vessels starts during third week of gestation in the blood islands. It starts first in the yolk sac and later in the allantois. Angiogenesis describes budding and sprouting of new vessels from the existing vessels. The adult heart is a modified blood vessel. The cardiogenic plate lies ventral to the pericardial coelom in the third week gestation. The position gets reversed with the forward growth of the head and folding of the embryo. Two endocardial tubes appear by the end of 6 to 7 somite stage which fuse to form the primitive heart in the 8 to 9 somite stage. The parts of the endocardial tube are- sinus venosus, atrium, ventricle, bulbus cordis and truncus arteriosus. The four chambered heart is formed by the formation of endocardial cushions, interatrial septum, interventricular septum and spiral septum. The interatrial septum includes the formation of septum primum and septum secundum. Oxygenated blood from the placenta enters the embryo by a large umbilical vein which enters the liver of the developing embryo. It is conveyed to the posterior vena cava through ductus venosus. The blood from the vena cava enters the right atrium which is sent to the left atrium through foramen ovale. Blood then enters the left ventricle and transmitted to all the parts through the aorta) The umbilical arteries arising from the aorta transport blood to placenta for oxygenation. After birth, lungs become functional as the placental circulation ceases. The formation of arterial system involves the modification of aortic arches, ventral aorta, dorsal aorta and its dorsal, ventral and lateral branches. Aortic arches appear sequentially and connect cranial portions of dorsal aorta with ventral aorta)The venous system is derived from the remnants of the cardinal system and vitelline veins and to a lesser extent the umbilical veins.

The embryonic gut tube, developing respiratory system, and accompanying glands all develop from endoderm, the inner germ layer. Endoderm is also responsible for the epithelial linings of the urinary bladder, middle ear, and auditory tube. Endoderm also gives rise to the parenchymal cells of the thyroid, parathyroid glands, pancreas, and liver.

Mouth and Esophagus: The digestive process begins in the mouth, where food is mechanically broken down by teeth and mixed with saliva, which contains enzymes like amylase that initiate carbohydrate digestion. The esophagus serves as a conduit for food, transporting it to the stomach through peristaltic movements. Stomach: The stomach is a muscular organ that serves as a site for food storage and initial digestion. The reproductive system comprises the gonads, genital ducts, external genitalia, and gonad descent. Development of reproductive system is initiated in gonads which differentiate into ovary or testis. Differentiation of reproductive system is a complex process which involves a number of different mechanisms operating at several stages of development. It occurs only after the arrival of primordial germ cells. First, the gonads undergo an indifferent stage before differentiating into the testes and ovaries. Thereafter, the sexual differentiation of the genital ducts is determined by the presence or absence of testosterone and Anti-Müllerian hormone, both of which influence the outcome of the mesonephric and paramesonephric ducts. Then sexual distinction of the external genitalia is also determined by hormonal secretions, or lack thereof and finally, the gonads descend primarily due to the shortening of the gubernaculum. As organisms transitioned from aquatic to terrestrial environments, the integument had to adapt to prevent dehydration, protect against UV radiation, and manage temperature fluctuations. For example, the development of a thicker, keratinized epidermis in terrestrial animals minimizes water loss and provides a barrier against environmental stressors. In mammals, the integumentary system exhibits even greater complexity. The evolution of hair, fur, and other adaptations allows for enhanced thermoregulation, sensory perception, and social interaction. For instance, many mammals have evolved specialized hair types, such as the insulating undercoat found in Arctic species or the short, coarse hair of desertdwelling animals that aids in heat dissipation. Anatomical Structure The integumentary system is composed of several key components: the epidermis, dermis, hypodermis (subcutaneous layer), and associated appendages such as hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and sweat glands.

Though similar to the gill arches in fish, these structures in mammals do not develop respiratory functions. Instead, they transform into various permanent structures of the adult face and neck.

Adenohypophysis: This portion develops from the roof of the stomodeum (primitive mouth) and consists of three parts: the pars distalis, pars intermedia, and pars tuberalis. It contains several cell types, including acidophils, basophils, and chromophobes, which secrete various hormones. For instance, acidophils release growth hormone (GH) and prolactin, while basophils produce hormones like adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and gonadotropins (LH and FSH). The secretion of these hormones is regulated by the hypothalamus through releasing and inhibitory factors delivered via the hypophyseal portal system. Neurohypophysis: Originating from the floor of the diencephalon, the neurohypophysis consists of the median eminence, infundibular stalk, and neural lobe. It stores and releases antidiuretic hormone (ADH) and oxytocin, both synthesized in the hypothalamus and transported to the posterior pituitary. ADH regulates water balance, while oxytocin controls uterine contractions and milk ejection during lactation.

The eyeball is a complex structure having tunics i.e. fibrous tunic (sclera, cornea), vascular tunic (iris, ciliary body, choroid)and nervous tunic (retin a)and its adnexa i.e. eyelids, lacrimal apparatus, extraocular muscles, conjunctiva and other soft tissue are very important structure for proper functioning of eye. The embryonic tissue which contributes for development of eye and its adnexa are:

Development of eye begins simultaneously with the development of brain by the process of neurulation. Neural tube is lined by neuroectoderm and the exterior of embryo lined by surface ectoderm. Neural crest cells, population of specialized mesenchymal cells develop from the lateral border of the neural fold and do not participate in the formation of neural tube. These neural crest cells migrate under the surface ectoderm peripherally and populating the region around the optic vesicle and form the future all connective tissue of structure of eye.
Formation of optic vesicle and optic cup which develop the retina
The optic sulci are visible as paired evaginations of the forebrain neural ectoderm on day 13 of gestation in the dog. The outpouching on either side of optic field of diencephalon (caudal part of prosencephalon) called optic vesicle which attached to the diencephalon by optic stalk. In dog, it appears at the gestation age of day 15. Each optic vesicle grows laterally until it comes into contact with the surface ectoderm. The surface ectoderm become thickened to form the lens placode near the optic vesicle. This lens placode invaginates into the optic vesicles and form lens vesicle, which later on loses it contact with the surface ectoderm. These abnormalities can manifest as structural, functional, or biochemical anomalies, and they can affect a wide range of systems, including the cardiovascular, skeletal, nervous, and reproductive systems. In veterinary medicine, the study of teratogens—agents that cause developmental malformations—is critical. Teratogens include drugs, environmental chemicals, infections, radiation, and nutritional deficiencies, among others. These agents can disrupt normal embryonic or fetal development, leading to a variety of abnormalities.

Artificial insemination
Artificial insemination (AI) is the earliest form of assisted reproductive technology. The technology has been of immense relevance in enhancing production and health features through the appropriate use of better male animals, as well as in eliminating certain venereal illnesses.
• Semen collection: The man is typically allowed to mount a phantom during the process. In cattle, an artificial vagina is used)
• Semen evaluation: Evaluating semen is crucial before processing. The most basic semen evaluation involves examining the concentration, progressive motility, and morphological normality of the spermatozoa)
• Semen dilution, packaging and freezing: Following examination, the semen is ready for dilution and packaging. Spermatozoa require storage mediums that are particular to each species. After packaging, the semen dosages must be properly maintained until insemination. Cryopreservation is typically used for cattle.

Multiple Ovulation and Embryo Transfer (MOET)
The main processes are to stimulate a donor female to create suitable embryos, then remove the embryos from her and transfer them to unmated recipient females at equivalent post-ovulatory reproductive phases, ensuring that the donor’s embryos are carried to term in the recipients’ uteri. Multiple ovulations are caused by superovulation or superstimulation, a procedure that increases the number of ovulations in a donor beyond what is normal for a given species. Embryos are recovered 6-8 days following the start of oestrus. Most embryos are transferred during the late morula or blastocyst stage.

Entrepreneurs not only identify business opportunities but also mobilize essential resources, often summarized as the “5 Ms”: Man, Money, Machine, Materials, and Methods. Key functions include:
1. Idea Generation: Entrepreneurs generate ideas through their vision, experience, training, and exposure. This involves selecting products and identifying projects by conducting market surveys and environmental scans.

Theories of Entrepreneurship Development

Entrepreneurship is a means by which economy and society are transformed. The emergence of entrepreneurs in a society depends upon closely interlinked economic, social, religious, cultural and psychological variables.
Personality traits perspective of entrepreneurship
In this approach, the entrepreneur is assumed to possess a particular personality type and thus much research has been to enumerate a set of characteristics possessed. The main Concepts studied include innovativeness, dynamism, risk taking, creativity, alertness, need for achievement, aspirations, self-confidence and being ambitious. An entrepreneur is an individual who possesses qualities of risk-taking, leadership, motivation, and the ability to resolve problems. Entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviour also include openness to new information and people, motivation, making independent and self-directed decisions, the ability to see opportunities in a rapidly changing and uncertain environment, persistence, the motivation to achieve, technical know-how, taking ownership, personal integrity, accountable, capacity to manage and
organise.

Similarity between an entrepreneur and a self-employed person is that they both own a business, but self-employment means working for oneself as an independent owner of the business rather than being employed. Majority of business owners fall under the category of self-employed. They begin with a skill or particular set of skills and find that the opportunity to make money arises.
An entrepreneur is a self-employed person having additional attributes of undertaking challenges and moderate risk-taking behaviour to achieve his/her goals. Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business taking on extraordinary financial risks in order to do so and has a growth orientation. Entrepreneurship is all about risks and rewards. Entrepreneurs think outside the box for the best ways to succeed and move on to their next venture. While the businesses might be of interest it is really the passion of the start-up and leading something to success that drives them every day. Often this can lead to selling the business or moving on to start a new one, once they have everything in place as they are always looking for challenges.
Income generation refers to activities undertaken for monetary returns and livelihood. Income generation is common to entrepreneurship, self-employment and income generation. Activities done for sustenance or low profit activities with minimal challenges are termed as income generation.
Phases of entrepreneurship development
There are three stages of establishing an enterprise:
1. Income generation: In the initial stage one tries to generate surplus or profit. This is done on part time or casual basis to supplement income e.g. a man with some surplus money might put his money in a fixed deposit account in a bank or a chit fund to earn some interest.
2. Self-employment: In the second stage an individual’s fulltime involvement is in his Bown occupation, e.g. a person who starts a general merchant or a grocery shop and s/he remains satisfied with it.

The term institutional support refers to provision of economic and social environment for industry and business. Agribusiness: A Dynamic Concept
Agribusiness, an ever-evolving concept since its introduction in the 1950s, encompasses a broad spectrum of business and management activities linked to agriculture. Downey and Erickson defined agribusiness as encompassing all activities undertaken by firms that supply inputs to the farming sector, produce agricultural products, and process, transport, finance, or market these products. Chait extended the definition to include agriculturally related businesses such as warehouses, wholesalers, processors, and retailers.
In developed countries, agribusiness is broadly defined as the total output from farm production and processing at both pre- and post-farm gate stages. In contrast, in developing nations like India, agribusiness is categorized into four distinct sub-sectors:

A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. It has a defined beginning and end, specific objectives, and is typically constrained by time, budget, and resources. Identifying business opportunities and product identification
The prospective entrepreneur’s first task is to recognize, explore and then decide an attractive and viable business occasion where he can create opportunities and make use of it. In simple terms, opportunity may be defined as an attractive and viable project idea which an entrepreneur accepts as a basis of his financial investment and time allocation decision. Good business ideas must be capable of being converted into feasible projects. The major ingredients of a business opportunity are:

It has since evolved to incorporate broader integration of business processes along the supply chain. In contrast, a value chain focuses on a set of linked activities that add value to a product, connecting producers to processors and markets. Value chains prioritize cooperation among actors to produce high-quality products and generate equitable income for all participants. Unlike supply chains, which center on logistics and product movement, value chains also include the transfer of knowledge, finance, payments, and social capital to organize producers and communities. While supply chains begin at the point of production, value chains originate from the consumer perspective.

This may involve adjusting planting dates, irrigation schedules, and fungicide applications to minimize the risk of disease. Furthermore, knowledge of the weather effects on fungal diseases can also inform the development of more accurate and reliable disease forecasting systems.

Bacterial diseases are a significant threat to human health, agriculture, and the environment. These diseases are caused by pathogenic bacteria that can infect various hosts, including humans, animals, and plants. The severity and spread of bacterial diseases are influenced by various factors, including weather parameters. Weather conditions, such as temperature, humidity, wind, and precipitation, play a crucial role in the development, dissemination, and survival of bacterial pathogens (Fig. 8.1). Fig. 8.1. High temperatures can accelerate the growth of some bacteria, while low temperatures can slow it down or even kill them, however every pathogenic bacterium have its own weather window. For example, a daytime temperature of 35°C and nighttime temperatures of 27°C are most favorable for Xanthomonas oryzae infecting rice. Similarly, humidity influences the survival and dissemination of bacteria, with high humidity favoring the growth and spread of many bacterial pathogens. For example, lower soil moisture decreases the chances of infection of Ralstonia solanacearum in tomato plants. Wind and precipitation also impact the spread of bacterial diseases. Wind can disperse bacterial spores and cells, allowing them to reach new areas and infect new hosts. Precipitation, on the other hand, can influence the availability of moisture, which is essential for the growth and survival of many bacterial

Despite the advent of modern technologies, such as machine learning and remote sensing, conventional methods of crop disease forecasting remain a vital tool for many farmers and agricultural practitioners. These methods are often simple, cost-effective, and accessible, making them particularly suitable for smallscale farmers and resource-constrained agricultural systems. This chapter will provide an overview of conventional methods of crop disease forecasting, highlighting their principles, advantages, and limitations. The chapter will also discuss the importance of crop disease forecasting in modern agriculture, emphasizing its role in promoting sustainable crop production and reducing the environmental impact of agricultural practices.
10.1 Conventional methods of Forecasting
There are several conventional methods of crop disease forecasting that have been widely used for decades. Some of these methods include:

These advanced methods include machine learning algorithms, artificial neural networks, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing technologies, and precision agriculture techniques. These methods have been shown to be highly effective in predicting crop disease outbreaks, and have the potential to revolutionize the field of crop disease management. For instance, excessive rainfall can lead to an increased risk of fungal diseases, while drought conditions can exacerbate bacterial diseases (Fig. 13.1). The confirmation phase involves closely monitoring real-time weather forecasts and disease surveillance data to detect early warning signs of an impending disease outbreak. Advanced technologies, such as satellite imaging and sensor-based monitoring systems, provide valuable insights into crop health and disease development. By combining these data streams, farmers and agricultural experts can confirm the presence of disease-causing pathogens and take targeted action to prevent their spread. Finally, a call to action is triggered, prompting farmers and agricultural stakeholders to implement integrated disease management strategies. These may include cultural practices, such as crop rotation and sanitation, biological controls, such as introducing beneficial microorganisms, and chemical controls, such as targeted fungicide applications. By leveraging weather wisdom, farmers can optimize their disease management strategies, reducing the reliance on chemical pesticides and minimizing environmental impact. By embracing weather wisdom, crop disease management can be transformed from a reactive to a proactive approach. Farmers and agricultural stakeholders can stay one step ahead of disease-causing pathogens, protecting their crops and ensuring a stable food supply. As we explore the intersection of weather wisdom and crop disease management, it becomes clear that this integrated approach holds tremendous potential for revolutionizing the way we predict, prevent, and respond to crop diseases.
13.1 Caution
Approaches to Caution Farmers on Crop Diseases, Information Generation, and Communication using Mobile Technology To caution farmers on crop diseases, it is essential to adopt a multi-faceted approach that leverages mobile technology to generate and disseminate critical information. This approach should focus on empowering farmers with timely and accurate information, enabling them to take proactive measures to prevent and manage crop diseases. Firstly, a robust disease surveillance system should be established to monitor and track crop disease outbreaks in real-time. This can be achieved through a network of field scouts, extension agents, and research institutions that report disease incidence and severity to a central database. Mobile-based applications can be used to facilitate data collection, transmission, and analysis, ensuring that critical information is captured and disseminated promptly. Once disease outbreaks are detected, mobile technology can be harnessed to generate and disseminate alerts to farmers. This can be achieved through Short Message Service (SMS) or voice messages, which can be sent to farmers’ mobile phones, warning them of potential disease risks and providing advice on management strategies. Mobile-based applications can also be used to push disease alerts, advisories, and management recommendations to farmers, ensuring that they receive critical information in a timely and accessible manner. To enhance the effectiveness of these alerts, it is essential to ensure that they are tailored to the specific needs and contexts of farmers. This can be achieved

Forecasting crop diseases based on the movement of weather systems is a critical component of modern agriculture, enabling farmers and agricultural stakeholders to take proactive measures to prevent or mitigate the impact of disease outbreaks on crop yields and quality. Additionally, weather conditions like temperature, humidity, and precipitation can affect the growth and development of crops, making them more susceptible to disease. Recent advances in meteorology, plant pathology, and data analytics have enabled researchers to develop predictive models that can forecast crop disease outbreaks based on weather patterns. These models use historical weather data, disease surveillance data, and crop phenology data to identify patterns and correlations between weather systems and disease outbreaks.

As we conclude this comprehensive review of the complex relationships between weather, crop diseases, and disease management, it is essential to reflect on the current state of knowledge and identify areas that require further research and attention. The preceding chapters have highlighted the significant impacts of weather factors on crop diseases, emphasizing the need for a deeper understanding of these relationships to develop effective disease management strategies. Significant work particularly on effects of different weather combinations on pathogen population and disease severity needs to be addressed well in time. Despite significant advances in our understanding of the weather-crop disease nexus, there remain substantial knowledge gaps that hinder our ability to predict and manage disease outbreaks effectively. For instance, the complex interactions between weather factors, crop physiology, and disease development are not yet fully understood, making it challenging to develop accurate predictive models. Furthermore, the impacts of climate change on weather patterns and crop diseases are still being researched, and more work is needed to understand these relationships fully. To address these knowledge gaps and improve our understanding of the weather-crop disease nexus, several action plans are required. Firstly, continued research is needed to elucidate the complex relationships between weather factors, crop physiology, and disease development. This research should focus on developing a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms driving these relationships, as well as identifying key weather thresholds that trigger disease outbreaks. Secondly, the development of accurate predictive models that can forecast disease outbreaks based on weather data is critical. These models should be able to account for the complex interactions between weather factors, crop physiology, and disease development, as well as incorporate data from multiple sources, including weather stations, satellite imagery, and field observations. Thirdly, there is a need for more effective communication and collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and farmers to ensure that research findings are translated into practical disease management strategies. This will require the development of user-friendly decision support tools that can provide farmers with timely and accurate advice on disease management, based on weather forecasts and other relevant data. Finally, addressing the impacts of climate change on weather patterns and crop diseases will require a coordinated effort from researchers, policymakers, and

Heart functioning can be examined through physical examination of the heart such as general inspection (looking for abducted elbow, jugular distension or pulse, edema of ventral abdomen or limbs, tachypnea /dyspnea), evaluations of vitals (temperature, pulse, respiration,

Large Ruminants Neurological examination of farm animals is an essential part of the physical examination, especially when there’s a suspicion of neurological disease. The examination begins with observing the animal’s gait and how it interacts with its surroundings. The main goal is to determine whether the neurological issue is primary (originating in the nervous system) or secondary (caused by something else) and to pinpoint where the problem is in the nervous system ( central nervous system -CNS or the peripheral nervous system –PNS ). When examining an animal, it is best to start with procedures that cause the least distress. Painful tests or more invasive checks should be done at the end of the examination.

A neurological examination is an advanced and specialized clinical examination that is performed when there is suspicion of potential nervous system involvement. Before performing neurological examination a detailed history is essential. Neurological examination along with history not only helps in confirming whether the neurological problem is of primary or secondary origin but also aids in accurately identifying the location of the lesion. Common Terminology used in Neurology The following terms are commonly used in neurology. For a better understanding, common neurological terms with their definition are given below: •     Ataxia - An abnormal gait marked by lack of coordination, but without spasticity, weakness, or involuntary movements. Ataxia results from damage to the proprioceptive pathways, the vestibular system, or the cerebellum.

Peritoneal Fluid Peritoneal fluid (PTF) is an ultra-filtrate of plasma. The amount of the fluid and its constituents depends on oncotic and hydrostatic pressures, vascular permeability, mesothelial lining integrity, and lymphatic drainage. In healthy animals, the amount of peritoneal fluid is negligible making its aspiration difficult. However, in large animals, a small volume (up to 5ml) can be aspirated. Volumes of 10ml or above may indicate a pathological process in the abdominal cavity, unless the animal is in late pregnancy. Indications for collection and analysis The collection and analysis of peritoneal fluid is important in the diagnosis of diseases of the peritoneum and the abdominal segment of alimentary tract .Increased accumulation of peritoneal fluid may be evident in congestive heart failure, peritonitis, nephrotic syndrome,

The skin is the largest organ of the body that plays an important role in defending the body against minor physical injuries, providing some defense against microbial invasion, maintenance of homeostasis, water conservation, temperature conservation, supporting hair growth and heat loss. Changes in the secretion of sebaceous glands lead to compromised defence. Abnormalities of the skin may arise from specific skin disease or by the poor general health status. Therefore, a detailed clinical examination of the animal as a whole and of its skin in particular, is an essential part of the process of diagnosis. The skin has three main layers starting from outside as the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutis. The epidermis consists largely of epithelial cells and pigment. The dermis is a connective tissue layer containing blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, sebaceous and sweat glands. The inner most subcutis contains fibrous and fatty tissues that provides insulation and support. In healthy animals, the skin has considerable elasticity. It reduces in dehydration and inflammation / injury to skin. General clinical examination should be carried out first as a routine followed by special examination

Eyes Anatomy The eye has following important structures. •     Choroid is the layer containing blood vessels that lines the back of the eye and is located between the retina and the sclera. •     Ciliary body is the structure containing muscle and is located behind the iris (that assist in focusing the lens). •     Cornea is the clear outer layer at the front of the eye that transmits and focuses (i.e., sharpness or clarity) light into the eye. •     Fovea is the depression in the inner retinal surface, the photoreceptor layer of which is entirely cones specialized for maximum visual acuity (sharp vision). •     Iris is the colored part of the eye regulating the amount of light entering the eye.
