What are synonyms and antonyms of a word?
A synonym is simply a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly similar to another word. For example, the synonym of the word honest is or impartial.
Rahul is an honest man.
Rahul is a just or truthful man.
Antonym, on the other hand, is a word that is opposite in the meaning and idea of a given word. Taking the example further, the antonym of the word honest is unfair. So, we can say-
Rahul is an honest man, but his brother Satish is the total opposite of him. Rahul’s brother Satish is unfair and biased in all his decisions.
It is not essential to use synonyms and antonyms in every sentence. You can use them according to the thought you wish to convey.
