The Undergraduate Programme in Agricultural Engineering is structured as UG Certificate, UG Diploma and B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering), with the curriculum restructured in accordance with NEP 2020 and the ICAR Sixth Deans’ Committee recommendations. The programme responds to emerging developments in precision agriculture, high-efficiency irrigation, farm energy systems, remote sensing, GIS, digital agriculture, IoT, sensors, automation, robotics, intelligent machinery and sustainable food processing.
The curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation in engineering and agricultural sciences along with practical exposure, skill enhancement, critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. Students receive opportunities for skill-based learning, industry attachments, exposure visits, case studies, electives, online courses, project work, experiential learning and incubation.
The four-year B.Tech. programme carries 180 credits, including 174 parent-institute credits, 6 online-course credits and 4 non-gradial credits for Deeksharambh and study tour. Multiple entry and exit options allow students to obtain a UG Certificate after the first year with a 10-week internship, a UG Diploma after the second year with a 10-week internship, or complete the four-year B.Tech. degree.
The programme further develops specialized knowledge through electives, an 8-week in-plant/research internship, study tours, online learning and advanced projects. It aims to prepare graduates for employment, research, entrepreneurship and leadership in modern and sustainable agricultural engineering.
